PRISM
Privacy Policy
Effective October 16, 2026
PRISM is a running app for race predictions, training load, and PR tracking. This page explains what it stores, where, and who can see it. The short version: PRISM keeps what it needs to work, shows it only to the people you choose, and never sells it, uses it for ads, or tracks you across other apps.
Apple Health
If you allow it, PRISM reads your workouts, heart rate, and date of birth from Apple Health. It never writes to Apple Health.
- Heart rate and date of birth stay on your iPhone unless you share runs with a coach (below). They are used on the device to calculate training load and age grading.
- These summaries do leave the device: your training status (for example "productive", with its load ratio), which your teammates and coaches can see; your weekly mileage totals, uploaded only if you turn on "Share weekly miles with my teams" in Settings; and run summaries, uploaded only if you turn on "Share runs with coaches" for a team.
- Run sharing is off until you turn it on, team by team. For each run in roughly the last six weeks and every run after, PRISM uploads the date and start time, distance, time, pace, average heart rate, elevation gain, and whether it was indoors. Never maps, routes, or GPS. Only the coaches of the teams you turned it on for can see them, and only while you're on that team. Teammates never can. Turning it off for your last team, or leaving that team, deletes every run you shared.
- Health data is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with data brokers.
What your account stores
- Account: your email address, first and last name, display name, and @username.
- Running: races you log or import (name, distance, time, date), goal races and their prediction history, and your training status.
- Social: friends, teams you join or coach, team workouts and completions, post-workout check-ins you send your coaches (effort, how you felt, soreness, whether something hurts, an optional note) and replies to them, meets your coach schedules and the results they record for you (event, time, place, or did not start / finish), training groups your coach puts you in, a 5K pace reference your coach sets for you (and an optional note), and cheers and comments on activities.
- Notifications: a record of activity that concerns you (who cheered or commented on your races, friend requests, workouts from your coach) and whether you've seen it; which notifications you want; and, if you allow notifications, your device's push token.
Some settings (widget choices, age-grading details, onboarding progress) and your shoes are kept only on your device.
Who can see it
- Friends you accept see your race activity, cheers, and comments in their feed.
- Teammates and coaches see your team membership, training status, workout completions, and (if you opt in) weekly mileage. Goal races are private to you — coaches do not see them.
- Coaches only see the run summaries you choose to share with their team, and whether you share them.
- Meet results your coach records are seen by everyone on that team. A result becomes one of your races only if you choose to add it. Leaving the team deletes your meet results on it. Coaches can share a meet recap image; it shows first names and last initials unless the coach turns on full names.
- Training groups (like "Varsity" or "JV") are set by your team's coaches. Everyone on the team can see the groups and who is in each. Leaving the team takes you out of its groups.
- Pace references — a 5K time your coach sets to pace your workouts — are seen only by you and the coaches of that team. Leaving the team deletes it. Coaches can share a pace sheet (PDF, spreadsheet or image) listing their athletes' target paces.
- Season plans (each week's phase, focus and planned miles) are written by coaches and can be read by everyone on the team. Workouts a coach saves as drafts are seen only by that team's coaches until they're published. A coach can share a workout template with the team's other coaches; leaving the team stops sharing it.
- Check-ins are seen only by you and the coaches of that team — never teammates. You can change one for 3 days and delete it any time; leaving the team deletes your check-ins on it.
- Other people can find you by your exact @username or email address in order to send a friend request.
Where it is stored
Account data is stored with Supabase, our database and sign-in provider, and is sent over encrypted connections. Access rules on the database limit each record to you and the people listed above. PRISM contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking software.
Push notifications are delivered by Apple Push Notification service, so the text of a notification (for example, the name of the friend who commented and the first part of their comment) passes through Apple to reach your device. Your weekly recap, streak and run reminders are scheduled on your device and never leave it.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account at any time in the app: Settings → your profile → Delete Account. This immediately and permanently deletes your account and everything listed above, including any team you coach. Signing out removes your races and goal races from the device. Your data in Apple Health is never affected.
Children
PRISM is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their information.
